Have you ever love the rain? Do you feel secured when it’s raining? Or do you feel blessed when it rains? Most of the time, the rain is remembered as a disaster, a vital form of calamity that brings floods and kills thousands of lives. But have we ever looked through those raindrops what rain really is? Rain is a blessing from God, a blessing that reminds us that sometimes we need to wash in order to make a fresh start.

It was last year when I first love the rain. That day was so warm but the sun suddenly hides himself under the blanket of clouds. I paused for a moment and watch the sky as it turned into heavy dark clouds. I felt a sudden chill. The wind blew, making me feel dizzy and cold. I continue to walk on my way home when the rain started to pour. It was raining heavily and by the look at the dark sky, one could tell that it takes time for the downpour to stop. I hurriedly open my umbrella a bit too late since raindrops already poured on me. It’s cold so I hugged the handle of my umbrella and moved fast. I felt a chill that’s getting on my nerves, giving me goose bumps. Then I saw children playing under the rain. They seem to enjoy the water as it poured over their small bodies. They happily splashing water to each other while trying to find small waterfalls from the roofs of every house. As I watch them running across the street, I smiled. I laid my hand and let the rain poured on it.
I miss this! I miss the pure smiles written on those children’s face, the splashing of water while playing, and the feeling of innocence. The memories of those good childhood days began rushing through my mind. Those days when the rain was my bestfriend. A bestfriend that I excitedly waited to come when I was still a young fellow.

Its hard to appreciate something without realizing what it’s worth. Rain may be vital but on others, its essence is to give us a good memory. It’s a great lullaby when you can’t sleep. It is a soap that cleanses our soul. Rain is one of those few things that can illustrate a picture of a true happiness. Rain is pure yet full of mysteries. Every raindrop represents different stories from different people. It is a shoulder that comforts us when we feel weak. A friend that never leaves when we’re in pain. The reason for every child’s smile. Rain will forever be the children’s bestfriend.
